DUTU Philosophy

The overall philosophy of the Dance Under the Umbrella program at Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts is that anyone and everyone should be able to experience dance, but that it is important to learn proper technique to avoid strain and injury. We encourage all participants to achieve their personal best and learn from other participants in a collaborative, non-competitive way. We also look to collaborate with other dancers, dance studios, and artists of all kinds, making Emerson Umbrella our perfect home.
